Stations
Riders can book a trip from either Utica or Thendara. Each of these stations hosts several different train rides daily to various destinations within the Adirondacks. If you want to spend some extended time in the Adirondacks, you can book your arrival and departure on separate dates to create your own vacation getaway.
Thendara Station
Thendara Station is located about a mile from Old Forge, which is full of places for tourists to visit. There is a shuttle from the station that is available to train patrons to use to take them to Old Forge and the different tourist attractions in the town. Stay at one of the inns in town and enjoy a few days enjoying all the shopping, dining, and entertainment that Old Forge has to offer.
Themed Rides
One of the amazing things about the Adirondack Scenic Railroad is that there are numerous themed rides for every occasion and holiday. If you visit the Adirondack Scenic Railroad website, you can book one of these themed rides from your preferred station.
The High Peaks Limited (Utica → Thendara →Tupper Lake)
High Peaks Limited train ride is a 11-hour Round Trip from Utica, and 4.5 hours Round Trip from Thendara through the Adirondacks.

All Aboard
As you can see, there are lots of fun adventures just waiting for you to make a reservation. All reservations can be made on their website. There is a cafe on board that serves food and drinks. Many destinations have restaurants waiting to serve you excellent food, such as the Big Moose Station Restaurant.
All train rides are round trip. You can arrange your reservations to extend your time in the Adirondacks, and some of these excursions will make you want to spend some extra time in the Adirondack Park.
