This is a lovely place that is hidden within the suburban area between two Rochester towns, Brighton and Penfield. It is hard to believe that a park this size could be concealed from the world, but it is and it is just bursting with natural beauty.

Scenic Falls

There are several small but gorgeous waterfalls in the lower section of the park. The most famous of which is the Tunnel Falls. This waterfall is small but stunning, especially in the summer when the area is covered in green. This is a popular spot for photos. If you follow the trail further down, there are several other rapids that are also picturesque.

Further downstream, Postcard Falls is has a scenic overlook. There are several trails that lead down to the water, although swimming, wading, or entering the water at all is prohibited. However, we’ve noticed whenever we have visited, that this doesn’t seem to stop people from doing it. In recent years they’ve added a wooden fence to discourage people from entering the creek.

Hiking

There are a total of 2.3 miles of trails throughout Corbett’s Glen. The trails traverse numerous habitats such as wetlands, pine forests, and meadows. As I mentioned before this park is located within two towns and there are homes along the edges of it. In some places, you will see neighborhood trail entrances. It is important that visitors are respectful of the area because there are homes around the park as well as the delicate natural environment.

Although this is a small park, the hiking here is fantastic. A large boardwalk circles the wetland area. The other trails are dirt but the ground is rooted and uneven, so proper footwear is a must.

If you are looking for a place to picnic within the park, there is a platform near Tunnel Falls with picnic tables. This is also a great place to enjoy watching wildlife, especially for bird watchers.

Winter At Corbett’s Glen

Winter hiking is growing in popularity and Corbett’s Glen is an excellent place to engage in not only winter hiking, but also cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The winter snow makes the scenery here enchanting, not to mention the ice forming around the falls. This is a magical winter escape.

Getting to Corbett’s Glen

There are two entrances to Corbett’s Glen one is on Glen Rd (a road just off of 441) and the other on Penfield Rd. Each entrance has its perks. The Glen Road entrance is the closest entrance to the falls; however, there is only street parking available and not much of it. The Penfield Road entrance has a parking lot.
