If you find yourself in the Niagara Falls area, this is a great restaurant to visit. Located directly across from the Falls and Niagara Falls State Park, this restaurant is the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of one of the most famous landmarks in the world.

(Full Disclosure-We make it a point to never tell anyone at any restaurant that we are Adventures in New York because we want to have the same experience you would have when visiting.)

Hard Rock Cafe

Dining in Music History and Live Music

The Hard Rock Cafe is a chain of restaurants around the world that focuses on music, and one of the things that makes this restaurant truly unique is the collection of music memorabilia that lines the walls. These restaurants are quite literally rock history museums. Each restaurant has its own unique collection of authentic memorabilia. Visitors are encouraged to wander around the restaurant and view all their acquisitions. The Hard Rock Cafe also has live music performances, typically in the evenings.

Reservations can be made online. We have always been able to walk in and get seated right away; however, we usually go in the wintertime and not during the heavy tourist season. If you really want to make sure you get a table, making a reservation is probably a good idea.

Hard Rock Cafe

Rock and Roll Memorabilia at The Hard Rock Cafe

The Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls has a great collection that included Jimi Hendrix’s guitar, hat, and coat, as well as memorabilia of Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, The Goo Goo Dolls, and R.E.M just to name a few. The walls are covered with everything from framed signed pictures, guitars, drumsticks, clothing items, and concert posters.

Excellent Food and Beverages

The food at the Hard Rock Cafe is excellent but not exactly cheap. They have a good menu with a large variety of different food choices to suit every palette. Their kid’s menu also has a lot of choices (full meals including drinks). A meal for 2 with 2 alcoholic beverages cost us $60 (and one of the dishes was just an appetizer). I highly recommend the cauliflower wings and the blackberry sangria. Both were delicious. The Hard Rock also will make food to your specifications. My husband likes his burgers rare (basically-walk it through a warm room) and he usually ends up with a medium-done burger. He was quite pleased to see a fair amount of pink in his burger and he said it was perfect and absolutely delicious.

I have ordered off the menu at this Hard Rock Cafe before. A while back we visited this Hard Rock and I was getting over an upset stomach and absolutely nothing on the menu appealed to me. Grilled cheese is one of my comfort foods and I asked the waitress if I could order one, even though it wasn’t on the menu. They were more than happy to accommodate me and It was a really swanky grilled cheese at that!

There is a menu posted on their website. Be warned, this menu doesn’t have the prices on it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the cauliflower wings I had been dying for turned out to be $12! Don’t get me wrong, they were fantastic, just wasn’t thinking an appetizer was going to be $12!

Souvenirs

No visit to the Hard Rock Cafe is complete without bringing home some souvenirs of your visit. Of course, there are tons of free little keepsakes at your table, such as the napkins, and drink garnishes. If you order one of the Hard Rock’s signature drinks (available in non-alcoholic), you can get a souvenir glass for a few extra dollars. They provide you with a voucher at the end of the meal to pick up your brand-new (and clean) glasses in the gift shop.

The Hard Rock Cafe has a decent size gift shop with every kind of souvenir you can imagine, such as t-shirts, jackets, pins, jewelry, and picture frames. The prices are quite high ($29 for a t-shirt) but at certain times of the year (usually dead of winter) they have clearance racks where the merchandise is a lot more reasonable.
