Webster Park Campground is one of the prettiest little campgrounds I have had the pleasure of discovering. Located on Lake Road in Webster, New York, it is connected to the large county park, Webster Park that surrounds it. This is campground is actually really quite nice, especially considering that it is a county campground. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat.

Campsites

Webster Park Campground has 46 sites. These all vary in size but are for the most part, very private and quite large. There are sites that are specifically designed for RVs and others that are more suited for tents or pop-up campers. All sites come with electric hook-up. We liked this campground because, while the sites are in most cases very private and surrounded by woods, they are open enough to allow in a great deal of sunlight. You really do get the best of both worlds.

There are sites that suit everyone’s preferences. Most of these sites will accommodate at least two tents. There are sites that can accommodate larger camping parties. The campsites are a bit pricey here.

Amenities

Webster Park campground has restrooms with showers in the center of the camping circle. Some sites are closer than others but for the most part, the restrooms are a fairly quick walk from whatever site you choose.

There is also a modern playground for kids to enjoy. You can even select a site that sits adjacent to the playground.

Webster Park

Some of the reviews for this park aren’t the greatest, mainly because I don’t think people who have camped here realize the vast size of the park around them. Camping in this park gives you access to the main park which has miles of hiking trails. If you check the park calendar, you can also participate in some of the orienteering events that are frequently available in the park.

There are also tennis courts, playgrounds, and of course Lake Ontario. There is a fishing pier just down the street that is a lovely place just to walk or watch the sunset over the Lake. This is also a great place to launch a canoe or kayak as well.

Sunrises and sunsets are absolutely spectacular here.

Whiting Road Nature Preserve

This trail system is amazing and it is one of those hidden gems that only the locals know about. My children refer to this place as The Color Trails because each trail in this trail system is a different color.
