The Genesee Country Valley and Museum is the largest living history museum in New York State. The museum hosts an abundance of events throughout the year that fully immerse visitors in the history and traditions of upstate New York in the time period from 1790 to 1900.

The Genesee Country Village and Museum has an impressive array of festive activities and events that will make everyone’s holiday brighter. The entire museum is decked out in traditional yet festive Christmas decorations and lights.
Preparing For Winter – November 18 & 19
Learn how the people in the 19th century would prepare for the coming winter during your visit. Watch demonstrations such as meat preservation and candle making. Enjoy walking through the village and watching the villagers make crafts and even make some yourself.
Holiday Market – November 18 & 19
Get your Christmas shopping done early at the Holiday Market. Vendors from all over Western New York will be selling local hand-crafted goods. Guests can also purchase gifts and village-made items at the Flint Hill Store.
Breakfast with St. Nick – Sundays in December (December 16th & 17th)
A favorite with the little ones, Breakfast with Santa is the perfect way to ring in the holidays. The Genesee Country Museum’s meeting center will be decked out in holiday lights and colors. Kids can write a letter to Santa and pose for a picture with the big man.
Holiday Open House – December 17
After breakfast with St. Nick on Sunday, Dec. 17, venture into the beautifully decorated Historic Village to celebrate the annual Holiday Open House! Explore the historic homes warmed by fires and cheerfully decorated in candles and traditional decorations. Experience traditional music, sample tasty treats, and see the celebrations of holidays past!

Yuletide in the Country Tours & Holiday Dinner – December (Dec 2nd & 3rd, Dec 8th, 9th & 10th, Dec 15th & 16th)
As you explore the wintry candlelit village adorned in holiday splendor, learn about the origins of some of your favorite holiday traditions from the melting pot of the blending of cultures in the 18th century.
Yuletide tours run from 5 – 8:30 p.m. on Fridays, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 12 – 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Make your visit even more festive by purchasing tickets to a Yuletide Dinner – featuring traditional savory and sweet holiday dishes! Yuletide Dinners will include garden salad, roast turkey, baked ham, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and assorted desserts, just to name a few.
Holiday Afternoon Tea in the Village – November 21, December 13, December 14, December 20, & December 21
Our Afternoon Tea includes a selection of tea varieties, finger sandwiches, and sweet treats. Wine and mimosas will also be available for purchase.
Guests will enjoy fascinating elements of 19th-century tea-time etiquette while enjoying a variety of teas, sweet treats, and finger sandwiches in front of a roaring fire and surrounded by festive holiday decorations. Guests are welcome to shop at the Flint Hill Store.
North Pole Night
In the same spirit as Breakfast with Santa, enjoy a pasta dinner with old St. Nick. Kids can pose for pictures with Santa and write him letters.
