One of the most amazing parts of the Finger Lakes, besides the lakes themselves, is the abundance of waterfalls. New York State has over 2000 waterfalls, many of which are in the Finger Lakes Region. Reynolds Gully Waterfalls is just one of these beautiful waterfalls and is the perfect destination on a warm day.

The creek is located 15A across from the southern Hemlock Lake Boat Launch. Keep an eye out for the Hemlock-Canadice State Forest Sign on the north side of the road. There is a small parking lot just as you pull in. Incidentally, there is also a parking lot across the highway.

This is a beautiful hike. If you are not up for getting in the creek, there is a place to walk along the creek for most of the hike. After that, the only way to see the falls is from within the creek. The woods around the creek are green and covered in moss even in early spring.
The rocks in the creek can be slippery, so make sure to use caution.

It appears that the upper falls, which are supposed to be the really impressive falls of this creek, are on private property. I have noticed in other pictures there used to be a zip line cable that ran across the creek, alerting hikers where the state land ended. This cable doesn’t seem to be there any longer. So, I’m not sure what the story is now on the upper falls. Previously, other waterfall websites have stated that the owners would press charges, although I see more and more pictures of these falls. On our last visit, the zipline was gone.

Our recommendation, as always, if the land is posted, please do not trespass.

This is a lovely hike, and the falls are truly beautiful, especially after a good rainfall. Well worth a visit.
