The Eva and Harlan Braham Preserve is a quiet and pleasant walk in a large meadow. The Preserve is approximately 71 acres of old farmland surrounded by woods. They are no spectacular sights to behold. This is however a really pretty walk for those who enjoy nature and wildlife. This is an easy flat hike that is good for little kids and people who have a hard time with rough terrain and stairs.

Hiking

If you are looking for a super easy hike, they don’t get much easier than this. The terrain is completely flat and even, and the trail is fairly short. When you first enter the preserve, the trail is lined with tall bushes on either side. This area appears to have been an apple orchard at one time as there are apple trees poking out from the bushes here and there. Eventually, the trail comes to a large open field. Keep walking and you will come to a small creek. This is a nice place to pause and appreciate some serene beauty. The trail continues into another field.

Wildlife and Birdwatching

This preserve isn’t the most exciting hike you will ever take but it is pretty and a great place to spot wild animals and birds. There are nesting boxes along the trail and there were tons of birds flying around us when we visited. This is an excellent place for bird watching. This area is an important habitat for migratory birds. If you visit around dusk, you can usually see deer feeding in the fields.
