Rotary Park, like so many of the places we have visited, is a hidden gem. Unless you live in or around the town of Honeoye Falls, it is very unlikely you would even know of its existence. The road into the park is not obvious. Fortunately, I know someone who lives in the area and they pointed me in the direction of this gorgeous park that has a little bit of something for everyone.

Rotary Park is a picturesque park that really does have something for everyone but the real jewel in its crown is the portion of Honeoye Creek that runs through it. The creek forms a large pond within the park that makes it a favorite place to relax and enjoy the water from one of the many benches that line the banks. Fishermen flock to this park to enjoy fishing for trout.

The creek is full of large rocks and pools in this area which makes this stretch of Honeoye Creek particularly beautiful. Although I would not recommend swimming here, it seems like a great place to enjoy wading in the creek to cool off on a hot day. There is also lots of room to spread out up and down the creek, so you won’t feel crowded.

Hiking

There is a 1.4-mile trail at Rotary Park that follows Honeoye Creek. The trail is flat and well-groomed. There are plenty of places along the trail where the trees open up and you get exquisite views of Honeoye Creek. This trail is really spectacular in the fall.

This is a great place to view wildlife, especially birds. Birdwatchers will love this peaceful setting.

Playground and Park Facility

Rotary Park has a fantastic playground that accommodates children of all ages. There is a basketball court and two soccer fields. There is also a picnic pavilion that can be rented for events. I think my favorite special touch was the chessboard that was etched into an old tree stump just waiting for people to enjoy a game on a nice day.

You will need to keep your eyes peeled for the road into the park. It is not obvious.
