Since we have a student at Ithaca College, we frequently drive down Cayuga Lake. We have a long list of vineyards to check off our list of places to visit when we are on our way to Ithaca. We were excited to visit Americana Vineyard because I had heard so many great things about this winery. However, what shot this vineyard to the top of the list was that it served one of our favorite frozen adult treats, wine slushies.

Wine Slushies
We really enjoy wine slushies, and since they aren’t a normal menu item at every winery, they aren’t easy to find. Only a select few vineyards around Cayuga Lake offer these delicious frozen treats, and lucky for us, Americana Vineyards was one of them.
Americana Vineyards keeps their slushies simple. They only offer one size, and you can choose between their white wine or their red wine or mix them like we did. The Slushies were delicious and extremely refreshing on a hot day.
Enjoy the Grounds
This winery has beautiful grounds with lots of places to sit and enjoy your wine or wine slushie. We enjoyed taking some time to walk around and explore the area around the pond at the back end of the property. As we were walking, it occurred to me that this would be a lovely spot for a wedding. There are also stages for live music and entertainment.
This is a dog-friendly winery. Please leash your pets and clean up after them.
After spending some time at the tasting bar or wandering the grounds, make sure that you explore the gift shop, where you can buy Americana’s delicious wines and other wine-related items. If you are looking for a yummy treat, try their homemade fudge.
