Parkside Whispering Pines Minature Golf Course is a hop skip and a jump from the Seabreeze Theme Park and is just as fun and entertaining. Enjoy 18 challenging holes that will have you meander your way through the oldest golf course in the United States. This is one fun activity you will want to add to your summer to-do list.

History

Whispering Pines Miniature Golf Course was built in 1930 when the game was experiencing a boom in popularity. The course was built using fossil stone and has a nautical/beach theme that has been there for generations. Incidentally, Whispering Pine Miniature Golf is listed on the national register for historical places.

The course

Like all miniature golf courses, there are 18 holes you have to go around and complete. In addition to the traditional vibrant colored golf balls, guests can choose between several different unique golf balls such as a poke ball, an eight ball, and the smiley face emoji.

Though the course appears smaller than average, it is by no means easy. There are quite a few challenges throughout the course. The 18th hole is a bit tricky but if you get a hole in one on that hole it’s a free game, which is a nice bonus. If you finish and feel like you could go another round, Whispering Pines offers a discounted rate for additional rounds.

The golf course is, for the most part, shaded, so even on a hot day, you won’t melt from the heat. When you return the golf club, there is ice cream for sale for a fairly reasonable price, which is a nice treat to enjoy after a fun game of mini-golf.

Parkside Diner

We didn’t have the opportunity to eat at the diner on this visit, but we had to go inside to pay for our game. This diner is the quintessential 1950’s style diner even though it opened in the 1990s. The food smelled amazing so I can only imagine it tastes just as good. We will definitely be returning for a bite to eat soon.
