Flash Light Safari & Halloween Nights

Historic Ghostwalks
Historic Ghostwalks presented by the Onondaga Historical Association are led by guides to locations in neighborhoods, buildings, and cemeteries where actors in costume portray individuals from Onondaga County’s past. The “ghosts” reveal their lives in 12 to 15 minute vignettes, giving personal insight to those who have preceded us.

Haunted Mansion Tour
TAKE UP A LANTERN AND HEAR THE STORIES WE DARE NOT UTTER IN THE DARK.
During October, we’ll be speaking aloud the tales of encounters–echoes from the past–experienced within Roberson Mansion. With a mix of Gilded Age history and lore, we’ll tell this home’s stories as we walk the same halls as this Mansion’s first and last family.
Tours are available Fridays and Saturdays during the month of October. Walk-ins are welcome. However, we recommend reserving a spot, as they do fill up quickly.
Tours are limited to 15 people to ensure proper social distancing. Face masks will be required at all times by visitors and staff.

Enjoy a fun Halloween Walk-through that is perfect for everyone by the creators of Lights on the Lake. Take an adventure through themed areas, including Witch’s Way, the Ghost Barnyard, the Pumpkin Patch, Skeleton Graveyard, the Spider Forest, Creepy Castle, Villains Village, Mummy Mansion, and more! Halloweenend at Ross Park Zoo
Halloweekend is taking over Ross Park for the Second Annual Halloweekend! The Discovery Center is excited to partner with The Ross Park Zoo for this campus-wide event with fun Halloween-themed activities! Joint admission to the park will enable you to trick-or-treat at both venues as well as participate in all crafts, activities, and performances. Activities will include a special display of painted pumpkins, character appearances, and a costume parade each day. Get your costumes ready for a day of fun and trick-or-treating!

Cortland’s Cabinet of Curiosities: Exploring Our Curious & Paranormal Past
The Cortland Curiosities Trail had us scouring the county for the quirky and wacky, showcasing the unusual (and sometimes supernatural). Those interested in exploring the county’s weird and magical past, along with getting to know many of its larger-than-life historical characters, can follow a string of stops directly into Cortland’s lore. It is a fun and unique way to explore the county, ideal for the traveler who believes no trip is complete without saying, “Well, THAT was weird!”
Stumble into Cortland’s very own haunted castle, retrace the steps of one of the County’s notorious cold cases, and rock on with local trumpeter turned heavy metal hero – just to name a few.

The Remsen Depot Corn Maze

Oswego’s very own “zombiephile” John Grouber invites you to THE ZOMBIE FASHION SHOW, a perfect way to welcome the fall and Halloween season. Participants and spectators are invited to partake in a frighteningly fun evening at Curtis Manor in Oswego, NY.
