Spring is just around the corner, bringing with it colorful blossoms that herald its arrival. Numerous festivals celebrate the beauty of flowers held annually in New York. Here are the festivals scheduled for 2025.

Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival

Dates: APRIL 26-27

2025 marks the 12th annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival at the Buffalo History Museum and in the Japanese Garden in Delaware Park, featuring a variety of cultural displays and activities. Explore bonsai, origami, and folk dolls, and learn about Buffalo’s sister city, Kanazawa, Japan, at the activity tables inside the museum. Enjoy live performances on two stages by Music is Art in the Japanese Garden. Take a leisurely stroll through the garden and enjoy a ride on the pink boats in Mirror Lake. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat from the food trucks!

Fee: The majority of the festival is free – The museum also waives it’s fee for the festival.

Mohonk Mountain House Tulip Festival

Dates: April 28 – May 9

Experience the beauty of spring on the mountaintop as our Victorian Show Garden comes to life with a breathtaking splendor of 20,000 tulips and the wonder of our budding natural landscape. In celebration, we welcome a variety of floral teas and cookies daily, alongside crafts, garden tours, campfires, music, and cocktail demonstrations. This year, the Gift Shop will be featuring daily samples of sweet and savory treats, including Hudson Valley Chocolates, Harney and Sons’ tea, Upstate Granola, Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolates, and more.

Peekskill Cherry Blossom Festival

Date: May 3

Peekskill Rotary’s 8th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival & Plant Sale – A vibrant celebration of spring! Saturday, May 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Peekskill Riverfront Green Park- for a day filled with beauty and community spirit. Rochester Lilac Festival

Dates: May 9-18

Celebrating 127 years in 2025! Explore North America’s most extensive collection of lilacs in Highland Park. As you stroll through the winding pathways, you’ll discover pieces of history, a vibrant festival, and an impressive array of lilacs, tulips, pansies, and more. The park, designed by Olmsted, features stunning gardens with hundreds of varieties of lilacs and other plants. This 10-day event includes live music every day from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., showcasing both local and national musicians. Looking for something active? Run the 47th Lilac 5K/10K run!

Albany Tulip Festival

Dates: May 10-11

The Albany Tulip Festival is one of the most popular annual events in Albany, NY, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to Washington Park each year. The 2025 Albany Tulip Festival will be held over Mother’s Day weekend, on May 10-11. This celebration will showcase over 140,000 blooming tulips, feature musical performances, and include a variety of unique vendors.

Clymer Tulip Festival

Dates: May 16-17

The Clymer Tulip Festival, a celebration of Dutch heritage, features events like a parade, a craft/vendor show, explore the historical Little Red Schoolhouse, a kids zone, movies in the park, food trucks, and activities like traditional Dutch dancing, bounce houses, and a petting zoo.

Williamson Apple Blossom Festival

Dates: May 15-18

Wayne County is the largest apple-producing county in the state and the third-highest apple-producing county in the United States. So it makes perfect sense that there would be a festival celebrating the multitudes of apple blossoms popping up everywhere in the Spring. The Williamson Apple Blossom Festival is celebrating its 65th anniversary in 2025. The festival features a kiddie & pet parade, a carnival with rides, vendors and lots of unique food options. And don’t miss the fireworks!

Dansville Dogwood Festival

Dates: May 15-17

The Dansville Dogwood Festival, held annually in May, features a 5K walk/run, a craft show, a carnival, a chicken barbecue, book sales, and more.

Newfane Apple Blossom Festival

Date: May 18

Come to the Village of Newfane for the 47th Annual Apple Blossom Festival! Experience live performances, browse through flea market and craft vendors, enjoy historical demonstrations, and check out car and tractor displays. Don’t miss out on delicious food options, including Art Gladow’s famous chicken chowder, along with baked goods, hot dogs, sausages, cotton candy, and pies.

Hornell Wildflower Festival

Date: May 24

The 11th annual Hornell Wildflower Festival in Hornell, NY, takes place in Union Square Park and features live music, craft vendors, and food vendors. Additionally, there are free activities and crafts for kids.

Linwood Tree Peony Festival of Flowers

Dates: May 17-18, May 24-25, May 31-June 1

This is your chance to see over 600 tree peony plants in bloom during three special weekends at a private garden that is rarely open to the public. In addition to the stunning flowers, the historic garden is a remarkable example of an early 1900s country estate, featuring fountains, pools, gates, and breathtaking views of the Genesee Valley. Whether you participate in a guided tour or explore on your own, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere of Linwood Gardens and learn about its unique history! Reservations are required for this festival and will be available on the Linwood Gardens website starting in April.

There is a fee for this festival, but kids are free.

Lewiston GardenFest

Dates: June 14-15

Participants explored beautiful open gardens that were free to the public. They visited over 70 unique vendors on Center Street, showcasing garden items and plants that are difficult to find elsewhere. Attendees also gained new knowledge during our Speakers’ Series and entered the creative Container Garden Contest. Everyone enjoyed a delightful day celebrating all things gardening in one location!

NY Lavender Festival

The NY Lavender Festival provides a farm experience with activities such as picking fresh lavender, browsing vendor booths, enjoying food and drinks, and taking part in workshops, all accompanied by live music.
