Waterfall

To call this waterfall beautiful just doesn’t begin to do it justice. These falls, fed by the Moose River, are nothing short of spectacular. The Agers Falls is a wide waterfall that has multiple drops. While it is not particularly tall, its impressiveness comes from the width and the dramatic way the water flows over several drops in the falls.

This entire area is almost entirely exposed rock face that has been worn almost (but not quite) smooth by hundreds of years of the river flowing over it at its various heights. This just adds to the rustic beauty of this park. This is a popular place to cool off on a hot summer day. There are numerous pools in the river where visitors can swim and beat the heat. There are picnicking facilities available for those who want to make a day of it.

Historic Ruins

If you are a fan of history, especially the settlement and growth of New York State, you will love this unique destination. This park is the site of a paper mill owned by Joel W. Ager, who came to New York and constructed a sawmill on this site in 1871. The mill operated until 1893. The mill burned down in 1902, and the Ager’s home was later abandoned in the 1930s. The ruins and the family cemetery can still be visited today.
