The Webster Arboretum at Kent Park is a quiet and peaceful park with some of the most beautiful gardens and trees in western New York. This park doesn’t just show off an abundance of gorgeous trees and flowers; there are nature trails for those who want to explore further into the depths of this park.

It is hard to find any area within this idyllic park that doesn’t have a bench to sit on or a shaded place to appreciate the beauty of this park. The Arboretum is a vast, carefully mapped-out park with unique plant life species that are hard to find anywhere else, such as several varieties of Redwood Trees (not the California kind). These trees are some of the oldest species of trees in existence. Their leaves actually resemble pine needles, making these trees look like some kind of coniferous/deciduous hybrid.

There are many water features, gazebos, and picturesque structures placed strategically around the Arboretum, making this a great place to visit and have professional photos taken for special occasions.

There are many specially designated flower gardens throughout the park, such as dahlia, rose, and perennial gardens.

We found many other little surprises on our trip to the Arboretum, such as frogs and a gnome house. One of the frogs was very eager to pose to have his picture taken. We knew it wasn’t a fairy’s house because the gnome was home.

If you venture to the way back of the park, you will find several hiking trails that take you into the woods. It is exceptionally peaceful and well worth the trek. However, parts of the trail are muddy, and the grass is high and a perfect place to pick up ticks. Make sure you have proper footwear and check yourself over for ticks when you are off the trail.

Cross any of the bridges in the Arboretum, and you will find yourself in Kent Park. There is an amazing playground there for the kids to play on and a nice place to rest.
