Buaman’s Farm Market is a must-visit for incredible fresh foliage; however, if you are looking for a fun place to make Halloween and Christmastime a little more special, you won’t be disappointed.
Halloween at Bauman’s
Bauman’s Farm Market is always on our Halloween “must-visit” list. This little farm market puts a great effort into spreading the Halloween spirit. My kids love this place! We have made a point of bringing them here every year since they were little. There are lots of fun Halloween-themed activities that are fun, spooky, and totally free.
Hay Maze
Bauman’s has a hay maze that is perfect for little kids. The maze isn’t so tall that it makes children feel cut off and scared, but tall enough to let them feel adventurous. This maze is fun to run through, and even as my kids got bigger (teenagers), they would still take a run or two through the maze.
Haunted House
Each year, Bauman’s puts together a haunted house. It has grown over the years. The haunted house is a collection of creepy sets that have become more and more elaborate throughout the years. Little kids might find this a little frightening, but the good news is that no one jumps out at you. These are all just figures and statues; some even have some cool special effects.
It is very dark inside the haunted house, and at some points, it can be hard to find your way. The disorientation is part of the fun. Just make sure that you aren’t Claustrophobic. This is a fun haunted house, and the best part…it’s free.
The Bauman’s Haunted House is never the same twice. Year after year, They come up with a different theme to spook their visitors. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the yearly haunted house. Even though our kids are almost grown and grown (in college), we never miss visiting this haunted house each year. In fact, this year, my daughter made me promise to wait until she came home on her fall break to go to Buaman’s. Which I happily obliged.
2023 Haunted House – Alice in Wonderland
My daughter has always loved Alice in Wonderland, so this was what you’d call a happy coincidence. This haunted house took the beloved story and turned it on its ear with a dark twist that really worked (complete with a soundtrack). There are a lot of unique little touches, so pay attention.

Last year’s haunted house is a subject near and dear to most Netflix watchers, Stranger Things. This was one of the best ones so far, especially with the music piped in.

Pumpkins and Decorations
When you finish going through the haunted house, you will enter into a room filled with Halloween decorations that you can buy. If you need to purchase pumpkin carving supplies, there are plenty of pattern books and carving tools available.
The front yard is full of pumpkins of various sizes, and of course, kids love the tepee. The tepee is a Bauman tradition that spans decades. In fact, I remember playing inside it when I was a little kid and picking my own pumpkins here.
Donuts, Cider, and More
While you’re visiting, make sure you get some of Bauman’s delicious donuts and cider. I always make a point of sampling some of their yummy fudge. Along with being able to purchase copious varieties of fruits and vegetables from the market, you can get all sorts of plants and flowers from the greenhouses. Bauman’s has the best fall mums in a variety of colors. My kids never miss an opportunity to say hello to Bauman’s two adorable bunnies.
I will let you in on a little secret: this farm market is the best place to buy sweet corn in all of Rochester. They have several unique varieties (at great prices), and they are incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. I haven’t had corn this delicious for as long as I can remember.
Christmas at Bauman’s
The Christmas season is another excellent reason to visit Bauman’s. They have all sorts of things to make the season merry and bright.
Poinsettia Room
Poinsettias are widely recognized as the official plants of the holiday season, adding vibrant color and festive cheer to homes and celebrations. At Bauman’s, you can explore a stunning room dedicated entirely to these beautiful plants. The selection includes a variety of poinsettia colors, such as classic red, white, pink, and even marbled options, allowing you to choose the perfect one to complement your holiday decor and bring the spirit of the season into your home.
Christmas Tunnel
Children will enjoy the festive Christmas Tunnel, which features Christmas lights, winter scenes, and photo opportunities, all accompanied by the sounds of the holiday season.
