I have an undeniable love for wine slushies. While they may not be what some consider “sophisticated,” these delightful libations never fail to impress me with their unique blend of flavors and refreshing taste. Unfortunately, as delicious as these drinks are, wineries that serve them are not plentiful.
Every time we visit our daughter in Ithaca, my husband and I make a point to find a new winery that offers these tantalizing treats. Over time, we have discovered quite a few wineries that serve these icy delights. These gorgeous wineries just happen to be fantastic places to kick back and sip on a refreshing slushie while soaking up the beautiful scenery and atmosphere of the vineyards.
Montezuma Winery
Montezuma Winery was our first experience with wine slushies. One sip, and we were hooked. I love their wine slushie food truck. They always have several flavors of slushies available and will often mix them for you – In this case, definitely try mixing the red and white; it’s fantastic. They have souvenir tumblers available that are forever refillable at a discount.
Swedish Hill Vineyard
Swedish Hill offers uniquely flavored wine slushies like peach mango and sangria. They offer souvenir tumblers, which give return visitors a discount on their next slushie. the best part of our visit to Swedish Hill was getting to meet Doobie, the donkey, and Sven, the miniature horse. They were adorable, and I have an incurable soft spot for animals.
Knapp Winery
Buttonwood Grove Winery
Buttonwood Winery keeps it simple by offering one size and one flavor of slushies. On the day of our visit, they had blackberry wine slushies which were absolutely delicious. However, what sets this winery apart is its beautiful ambiance and well-kept grounds. The property is adorned with immaculate gardens and seating areas that allow visitors to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Hosmer Winery
This is by far my favorite winery on the list, not just because of their scrumptious wine slushies, but because they were by far the most friendly and fun of all the wineries we’ve visited. The staff goes out of their way to make your experience top notch!
Lucas Vineyard
Of all the wineries we visited, Lucas Vineyard was the only vineyard that let us sample each flavor of their slushies so we could make a better selection. There is a fantastic gift shop here that wine lovers will get a kick out of. And, of course, great grounds to enjoy while you sip your cooling drink. They also have souvenir tumblers available here.
Americana Vineyards
This is a favorite winery on many people’s list. This winery has a real country feel to it, and the grounds are wilder and more natural. This is was really a lovely place to relax and just unwind. While you’re there, enjoy a meal at the Crystal Lake Cafe.
