DeWolf State Park might just be the smallest state park in New York but it is also one of the most remote. This park is located on Wellesley Island on the Lake of Isles portion of the St. Lawrence River, perfect for boating and fishing or just taking in the beauty of the Thousand Islands. This is a beautiful place to escape from the hectic world.

This state park is known for its rustic beauty. The large rock outcroppings throughout the park and along the shoreline add a natural charm to DeWolf. There are only 14 campsites at DeWolf State Park. Most of them don’t have any privacy but they all back up to the woods. There are also 14 cabins that have a view of the water. Each cabin is unique, but they all have picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a fire ring.
Boating
What really brings people to DeWolf is the boating and excellent fishing. There is are boat slips for rent and a large boat launch. This is also known for being an excellent place for ice fishing. Boaters here will love the access they have to sail on the St. Lawrence River.

Wellesley Island State Park
Wellesley Island State Park is one of the most beautiful parks I have visited in New York State. It is perched right on the St. Lawrence River, and I found that the camping, boating, and hiking here is really second to none.
Scenic View Park
If you find yourself in the Thousand Islands, you can’t visit without stopping in the town of Alexandria Bay, the heart of the Thousand Islands. There is so much to history and beauty are hidden in this small town, like Scenic View Park. This splendid park is located right on the St. Lawrence River and provides visitors with a fantastic view of Boldt Castle in the distance.
