We are always on the lookout for amazing restaurants that serve delicious food and the Gateway Grille most definitely falls into that category. When we found ourselves in Canandaigua and in desperate need of sustenance, we went on a search for a place to eat. Overwhelmed by our choices, we did a quick google search and the Gateway Grille was at the top of the list. We were delighted to discover a fantastic restaurant with not only terrific food but great ambiance too.
(Full Disclosure-We make it a point to never tell anyone, at any restaurant that we are Adventures in New York because we want to have the same experience that you would have when visit.)

Great Food
The Gateway Grille serves breakfast and lunch from 7 am -2 pm every day and the menu is well rounded with something for everyone. When offer the chance to eat breakfast at lunchtime, I am the first person to jump on that, especially when there are interesting and unique options. I took a while to peruse the menu and sort through all the scrumptious sounding choices. I took a few minutes to make up our minds. Eventually, I decided on the sausage gravy on Texas toast and it was divine! My dining companions enjoyed yummy paninis.
The food was served promptly with very little wait time. One thing I’ve noticed since the beginning of the pandemic is that the quality of restaurant food has declined significantly. I understand it but it is disappointing when you are spending hard-earned money on what you are hoping is a good meal. The Gateway Grille did not disappoint. This was the best restaurant meal I enjoyed in a long time. There was no need for a doggie bag, I cleaned the plate.
Want to spice up your breakfast or lunch a little bit. You can order spiked coffee or hot cocoa, mimosa, bloody mary, or other spirit-infused drinks that go great with a delicious meal.
Great Ambiance and Excellent Service
My one disappointment was it was too chilly out to enjoy the Gateway Grille’s outdoor dining area right on the main street of Canandaigua. Although, the inside dining was just as nice. The restaurant is clean and has lots of little touches that make it feel warm and homie.
Our server was a nice as can be and even though she had several tables to attend to, she was always checking in to see that we had everything we needed and that our food was to our satisfaction. Needless to say, I walked away from lunch feeling full and extremely satisfied with my entire dining experience.
