Lite Up The Village
Every year, the Village of Lake George is lit by thousands of lights to celebrate the holiday season. This completely free event in Shepard Park will feature horse-drawn carriage rides, refreshments, and more beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Bobby Dick and Susie Q will hold a family-friendly holiday sing-along at 5:00 p.m. The first annual Ugly Sweater Contest will be held in the Shepard Park Amphitheater with the winner taking home a $250 prize.
At 6:00 p.m. everyone will gather in Shepard Park to ignite the thousands of light displays. A spectacular fireworks show over the lake will follow the lighting. After the displays are turned on, head to Canada Street for the third annual Holiday Lighted Fire Truck Parade to see colorfully decorated vehicles from local fire companies. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be there! Kids can meet Santa after the parade at the Lake George Fire House.

Winter Realms
A snow-capped fantasyland awaits on the shimmering shores of Lake George. Nestled in a magical forest, Winter Realms is an open-air experience brought to you by the award-winning creators of Ice Castles. Explore sublime winter attractions:
Ice Skating – Glide along a glittering rink surrounded by glowing light displays. Spectator tables and warming stations are situated around the rink. Skate rental is included with your ice-skating ticket (additional cost).
Santa’s Candy Cane Court – From November 24 – December 23, stop by Candy Cane Court to share a Christmas wish with Santa and take a festive photo.
Polar Pub – Take European Après-ski culture to the next level with a beer or winter cocktail. Hang at the pub to sip your tasty drink or take it with you on a stroll through the realm.
Ice Sculpture Garden -Wander among larger-than life creations that sparkle like jewels in the crisp winter air. From the ice throne to the igloos, these world-class sculptures are not to be missed. Our world-class sculptures explore the rich, ancient history of the Chinese zodiac – along with other seasonal surprises!
Snowman Park -Come frolic in the snow, make some snow angels, and sculpt your own snowman in our interactive snow park – where the joy of winter comes alive. From coal eyes to pointy carrot noses and more, decorations for your frosty friend are provided free of charge.
Mystic Light Walk -Stroll a spellbinding path glowing with otherworldly illumination. This paved experience is approximately 850 feet or .16 miles. It’s perfect for visitors of all ages.

Holiday Village Stroll
Make your holidays merry and bright in Lake Placid this December!
A Lake Placid tradition, the Holiday Village Stroll is a family and couples weekend set in the fairy-tale winter wonderland of Lake Placid, New York. Stroll spans three days and includes events like a skating party, photos with Santa, a free movie showing, and a scavenger hunt.

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
The Canadian Holiday Train departs Montreal on November 27 and follows CP tracks west to Vancouver, performing free concerts in support of food banks at each stop. The train is scheduled to make 6 stops in New York.

The Wild Lights

32nd Annual Christmas Open House
The Mayfield Historical Society’s 32nd Annual Christmas Open House at The Rice Homestead. Musical entertainment in the Victorian Parlor will be by Fleur de Lys from 12-2 pm and Dana Carroll on the hammered dulcimer from 2-4 pm. Rooms will be decorated in the holiday spirit of yesteryear with fireplaces ablaze, and homemade cookies and hot mulled cider will be served. Spinning and wool rug braiding demonstrations will be in The Loom Room, and the very popular Homemade Pie Sale will be in the dining room as well as gift baskets for raffle. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments are free.

2023 Christmas on Main Street: Old Forge
Come visit us Thanksgiving weekend to kick off the holiday season with friends and family. Area clubs, civic groups and businesses have planned an unforgettable family experience. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in town, and families will be treated to old fashioned horse-drawn wagon rides, tree lighting, a light parade, face painting, Zoo Mobile, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Candy Cane Hunt, Reindeer Fun Run and more! All free of charge!
Additional venues are also available for your enjoyment. Including the Santa Express Train, holiday arts and crafts at View and Ace Hardware. Keep your antlers on from the Reindeer Run, the fun doesn’t stop there – wear your antlers into the special holiday 2pm matinee at the Strand Theater and receive a free small popcorn and 1/2 price matinee.

Winter Weekends at the North Pole
Parents can treat their kids to something special during the holiday season at the North Pole, where they can enjoy the magic of a Christmas Village and visit the big man himself at Santa’s Workshop! Special Yuletide Family Weekends are typically offered through November and December. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for families with children ranging from 2 to 10 years.

Village of Lights
VILLAGE OF LIGHTS- offers family and friends a “magical” way to get into the Christmas spirit. See the park as it is transformed into a Christmas Winter Wonderland that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Enjoy caroling, our fire pit’s “roaring fire”, visit the shops as well as the reindeer and put in that last request to Santa himself. Lastly, don’t miss the Nativity Pageant presentation, set on the village hillside. In all, a wonderful way to capture the “spirit of the season” right here at Santa’s Workshop.
