I’m going to start this post with two words…WINE SLUSHIE! We were headed to Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge when we passed this winery and its ingenious wine slushie food truck. I don’t know whose brainchild this is, but that person is a genius. I know a lot of people waiting in line to shake their hands.

Wine Slushies
Montezuma Winery has a delightful wine garden where customers can sit outside in the warm sun and enjoy delicious wine slushies. The slushies can be bought at the Slush Wagon parked in front. We assumed that they must be good as we always see a decent size crowd buying them whenever we pass by the winery. The day we visited, it was just after noon on a crisp but sunny Sunday afternoon, and we saw that there weren’t a lot of people at the winery and decided to satisfy our curiosity about the wine slushie.
They offer several varieties of slushies; one of their red wines (like Fat Frog Red) and one of their white wine, and then two other interesting and often seasonal concoctions. You can buy a regular-size slushie that comes with a free Montezuma Winery Coozie or a large collectible tumbler, which is a nice touch. They also had wine Jello shots when we visited.
After sitting in the wine garden and taking a few sips of our slushies, I immediately understood what was drawing the crowds. These slushies are heavenly.
Wine Tastings & Gift Shop
The Montezuma Winery is a member of the Cayuga Wine Trail, and although we have never personally stopped at any of the wineries on the wine trail until this point, this felt like a good place to start. The Winery offers both wine-tasting and spirit-tasting.
