This restaurant not only has a vast menu with fantastic food, but if you decide to enjoy their outside dining area, you can also enjoy one of the best views in Ithaca as well. Whenever we come to visit Ithaca, we always make a point of stopping for a bite to eat at this incredible restaurant, especially since our daughter is a student at Ithaca College and the Sunset Grill is so conveniently located near campus.

Great Food
When I say the menu here is quite extensive, I’m not exaggerating; and there is quite literally something for everyone, including vegetarian options. If you decide to visit the Sunset Grill, ensure you bring your appetite because the portions are large. I almost always end up carting away a doggy bag. This is the one restaurant I know I can bring my entire family to, and everyone will be happy with the selection and food they receive. Personally, I love their gyros. They make them exactly the way I love them, and the side of fries that comes with it is scrumptious.
When I dine at the Sunset Grill, I always enjoy a nice glass of Resiling from Knapp Winery (a local winery on the Cayuga Lake wine trail). The drink menu at the Sunset Grill has a variety of great options, including beer and wine. They also carry Ithaca Beer Root Beer, which is brewed right there in Ithaca. My son, who considers himself to be something of a root beer connoisseur, thought the Ithaca root beer was mana from heaven.
Excellent Service
You will never find anything but helpful and happy staff at the Sunset Grill, or at least that has been my experience. We are always greeted and quickly led to the seating area of our choice. The one thing I really appreciate is how open and honest the staff are. They don’t treat us as customers; they always treat us like very special guests. They are familiar with all the dishes and will even gush about their favorites if you ask. I have never had anything but a positive dining experience here, and I attribute most of that to the great staff.
An Incredible View
When my husband first took me to the Sunset Grill, he was excited to show me the amazing view from the outside dining area. Amazing doesn’t even begin to cover it. From the deck of the Sunset Grill, guests get an almost completely unobstructed view of the south end of Cayuga Lake. It’s no wonder this restaurant is a popular destination when the weather permits guests to dine on the outside covered deck.
