New York, lucky for us, has tons of roadside waterfalls and Talcotville Falls is one of them. This lovely waterfall is nestled away in Lewis County and can be easily viewed from your vehicle.
Roadside Waterfall
Perched on the edge of Thousand Island, in the foothill of the Adirondacks, there is a hidden treasure trove of beautiful places to visit, like Talcottville Falls, that really isn’t on most people’s radar. Talcottville Falls is 60 feet tall and is located on the Sugar River.
We have seen pictures that are closer to the falls, however, as the land around the falls was posted, we did not climb down to the waterfall. We heard that there is a trail that leads down to the River from the end of the bridge. We didn’t see an obvious trail and we didn’t want to trespass. The good news is that we had an excellent view of the falls from the bridge.

Gould Mill Falls
Gould Mill Falls are dazzling falls that are large enough to be dramatic but laid out in such a way as to allow visitors to get right up close.
Lyons Falls
You can get really close to this waterfall. My feet were right along the rocks with the water rushing by, and I was being bathed in mist to give you an idea. The sheer thundering power of the falls could be physically felt.
