We can’t come to Buffalo without eating at this classic Buffalo restaurant. Ted’s is a great hot dog (and hamburger) place that grills your food right in front of you and lets you dress it up any way you want. Ted’s has been a Buffalo staple since 1927 when Theodore Spiro Llaros (Ted) purchased his first hot dog stand for $100.

I know what you’re thinking. Hot dogs, what is the big deal? Well, these are top-shelf hot dogs that can come with an abundance of toppings, including Ted’s own meaty hot sauce. Ever asked for a cheese dog and just get a melted slice of American cheese? Not at Ted’s. Their hot cheese sauce is delicious and makes every hot dog taste out of this world. Add some chili and you’ve got the world’s best chili cheese dog!
My kid’s favorite parts of Ted’s are the extra pickles and the bottles of vinegar for the french fries. Ted’s fries are amazing by themselves but add a little vinegar (or a lot if you’re one of my kids) and they are the yummiest fries this side of the Atlantic.
Their extensive menu isn’t limited to hot dogs and hamburgers. Ted’s serves soup, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and sausage. Their sides include everything from fries and onion rings to mac n’ cheese and potato salad. Ted’s also serves up food on gluten-free rolls, upon request, for those on a gluten-free diet.
Ted’s also serves a delicious drink that is not easy to find, Loganberry. My kids are nuts for this stuff and I won’t lie, I order one every time we eat at Ted’s. This delicious berry drink takes me back to when I was a kid. There are also loads of milkshake and malt flavors, including my favorite, orange cream.
If you find yourself in the Buffalo area, this is definitely a place to stop to grab some great food. They have locations all over Buffalo. Eat-in or take-out, this is some of the best food around. Don’t forget to purchase a bottle of delicious Ted’s hot sauce for your summer grilling at home.
