Once you’ve visited Wilbert’s Tree Farm, the home of the affordable Christmas Tree, you will never buy your Christmas tree from anywhere else. With over 100 acres filled with the widest variety of Christmas trees to choose from, Wilbert’s will become your new holiday tradition.
We have been selecting and cutting our own trees at Wilbert’s for 15 years. Our kids look forward to picking our Christmas Tree every year. We love walking down the lanes of the farm (named after the original owner’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.) looking for that perfect Christmas Tree.
Cut Your Own Christmas Tree
Part of the magic of putting up a Christmas Tree is donning the heavy coat, boots, hat, and gloves and tromping out in the snow, and searching for that one truly superb tree that you can just picture all decorated in your home. Of course, some years, we have been able to go and pick out a tree in just a sweatshirt.
Wilbert’s Christmas Tree Farm has eight varieties of evergreen trees – Douglas Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, Scotch Pine, Austrian Pine, Fraser Fir, and Concolor Fir.
Wilbert’s provides tree saws and carts to wheel your tree back to one of the payment/baling stations. The carts make it easy for the kids to help bring the tree back to the stations. The Wilbert’s staff will shake your tree, get rid of any loose needles, and then wrap your tree to be placed on your vehicle. They will provide twine to tie your tree onto your vehicle (although they are unable, for insurance purposes, to assist you).
Live Nativity Scene
For us, a visit to Wilbert’s Tree Farm is more than just getting a Christmas tree. It is a place where we have been creating memories for years. Especially with all the “extras” that Wilbert’s provides. My favorite, the live nativity scene. This is a time-honored tradition at Wilbert’s. Long before we ever began getting our Christmas Tree from Wilbert’s, my parents would bring our kids here just to see the nativity. There is a recorded narration that tells the story of the first Christmas. Along with the statues, there are donkeys, goats, and sheep, which you can purchase food and feed, which is my kids’ favorite part.
Photo Opportunities
When you go to Wilbert’s make sure you bring your camera because there are lots of great photo opportunities. At many of the stations, there are giant candy canes that have measurement marks on them. You can, of course, measure your Christmas tree but we enjoy taking pictures of our kids and have watched them grow year after year. Even with our oldest in her early 20’s, our kids still insist on us snapping that photo.
You can take a family photo with the Christmas tree cutouts, on the antique Wilbert’s tractor, in Santa’s sleigh, or with the big man himself. On Saturdays and Sundays, Santa visits Wilbert’s Tree Farm from 10 am -2 pm. (Check with the Wilbert’s Facebook Page for Santa’s 2023 Schedule.)
