There is no shortage of waterfalls in New York, but every once in a while we discover one that is just amazing for numerous reasons, outside of just general appearance. Wiscoy Falls holds a great deal of appeal because it is located right along the road, flowing fully regardless of the water table, and is easy to get to for those wishing to cool off in the cascading waters.

Viewing the Falls
Wiscoy Falls can be viewed in all its perfection from the bridge. (Although for the sake of traffic, please don’t park on the bridge and hold up other vehicles). There are other vantage points to view the falls but they all require a very short walk over uneven ground, so they aren’t accessible to everyone.
You can get a fantastic view of the entire falls from underneath the bridge, but this requires either crossing the road and walking down a short path or walking through the water from the parking area.
Visitors can see many different facets of the Falls since it is so wide and has multiple levels of cascades. We visited this serenely picturesque spot in autumn and the changing leaves only made it more beautiful, which is hard to believe.
Exploring the Falls
In summer, this is a popular place to cool off in the summer. The vast width of the Falls encourages visitors to spread out and enjoy gambling about in the water. The great thing about this waterfall is that no matter how dry the summer gets, this waterfall is always full. There is a parking area on the north side of the bridge, from where visitors can follow the trails to the water. The parking area can fit several vehicles, and I imagine it can fill up quickly on a hot day.
